da apostebet: According to The Sun, Newcastle United are considering making a move for cut-price Everton winger Yannick Bolasie this summer, but if their interest is true it’s sending out completely the wrong message to Miguel Almiron.
What’s the word, then?
Well, The Sun report that the Magpies, along with fellow Premier League duo Southampton and Crystal Palace, are all monitoring developments concerning the 29-year-old, who has been made surplus to requirements by Marco Silva.
The Sun report that the African attacker joined the Toffees in a £25m deal from the Eagles in 2016, but serious injury has hampered his spell on Merseyside, and he spent time on loan at Aston Villa and Anderlecht this term.
The story adds that Everton are keen to sell Bolasie on a permanent basis and hope to recoup at least £7m for him, which has seemingly caught the eye of the Tyneside outfit.
Wrong message to Almiron
There was a huge amount of excitement when the Paraguay international completed a club-record move to St James’ Park during the January transfer window, but he hasn’t really lived up to the hype so far.

An impressive start against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town was followed up by a number of anonymous displays from the South American, who will be keen to hit the ground running next season.
The 25-year-old often played from the left-hand side for Rafa Benitez’s men before suffering a hamstring injury that saw him miss the final three Premier League matches of the campaign, and it is a position Bolasie himself is familiar with.
Newcastle should be placing full faith in Almiron to deliver the goods following a pre-season with the team, but the interest in a player that can feature in the same role he does is hardly the confidence-booster he may be in need of.
While competition for places is vital, the Toon shouldn’t be targeting any left wingers this summer to prove they have full faith in the player they splashed £20m on.
