da aviator aposta: Wales began their new UEFA Nations League campaign in style with an emphatic 4-1 win over the Republic of Ireland at the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday evening, and Swansea right-back Connor Roberts put in a top class display.
da bet esporte: The 22-year-old broke into the Wales set-up earlier this year and was making his first competitive appearance for his country while earning his third cap.
Roberts is a product of Swansea’s academy but only made his debut for the club in January this year after a series of loan spells with Yeovil Town, Bristol Rovers and Middlesbrough over the past couple of seasons.
Wales took the lead against Ireland after just six minutes when Tom Lawrence smashed home past Middlesbrough keeper Darren Randolph, and star man Gareth Bale doubled the scoreline just over ten minutes later with a trademark left-footed strike from outside the box. Aaron Ramsey made it 3-0 before half-time to put the result beyond doubt with Wales full of confidence.
Then halfway through the second half, Roberts put the cherry on top for boss Ryan Giggs by finishing off a wonderfully worked team goal with a stunning weak-foot volley from the edge of the area.
The goal was just-reward for a fantastic performance where the young star completed 92% of his 62 passes and was a constant threat while on the attack with two shots and one key pass proving he had the legs to get himself into dangerous positions.
Ashley Williams with 79 caps and Joe Allen with 42 caps both started the game against Ireland as Giggs went with a mix of youth and experience. Both of these two were Swansea academy graduates but after Roberts’ impressive performance he could eclipse both and become the best player to come through the Swans’ youth system in recent years, alongside Scotsman Oliver McBurnie who is also in fine form.
Fans of the south Wales club will just have to hope that they can keep hold of Roberts and McBurnie if bigger clubs come calling in January or next summer.
