Chelsea have been linked with moves for attacking pair Hatem Ben Arfa and Stevan Jovetic, according to The Daily Mail.
The west London club are on a transfer rampage this summer, and are looking to build a squad capable of challenging both domestically and in Europe.
With Didier Drogba leaving Stamford Bridge on a free transfer, a new forward is top of Roman Abramovich’s wishlist, with Porto’s Hulk initially thought to be the striker of choice.
However, with a deal for the Brazil international faltering and expected to cost in the £40 million mark, Chelsea have turned their attention to two other attacking stars.
Firstly, Newcastle attacker Hatem Ben Arfa has been linked with a switch to the London club, with a £18 million price tag slapped on the France international’s head.
The winger dazzled the Tyneside club’s fans in 2011-12 with terrific individual skill, and as such has caught the eye of their Premier League rivals.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina attacker Jovetic is expected to leave the Florence club this summer with a number of big teams interested in his signature, and reports in Italy indicate that the Blues have made a £20 million offer for the Montenegro international.
