da 888casino: Manchester United feel like a club on the verge of crisis heading into their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
While a shock defeat to Brighton last time out may seem like little more than a disappointing hiccup at the start of a long campaign, it falls on the backdrop of a difficult transfer window for the Old Trafford outfit and constant insinuations of rifts between Jose Mourinho, his players and his paymasters.
A loss to a key divisional rival on Monday night in the form of Spurs will no doubt heap the pressure on the under-fire United gaffer. But Manchester United expert and presenter of the Shoot The Defence Podcast Stel Stylianou thinks the problems at the club stem far deeper than the man in the dugout.
Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast’s Fixture in Focus Podcast, Stel said: “I’m not one of these ‘Jose Out’ people but I think there’s so much going wrong at United and it’s not just the manager. It’s the players, but you can look further on – you can look at the CEO, you can look at the owners.
“We knew this day was going to come. The moment the Glazers took over we knew they’re just in it for the money. The richest club in the world generates the most money. They’re not here to win trophies, they don’t care – it’s all about that revenue. And let’s be 100% honest you know, the way the TV money is at the moment what’s the difference between first and fourth – £20-odd million? It’s nothing to them.
“As long as they get in the Champions League, that’s the main thing. And I don’t know what else to say, I mean I’ve been talking about this for ages, about the Glazers, so I’m actually blue in the face at the moment. But it’s a mess at the moment, it really is.”
