da esoccer bet: Since the close of the transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been incredibly busy convincing their key stars to commit their immediate futures to White Hart Lane.
da fazobetai: Over the last few weeks, Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier and youngster Harry Winks have all signed long-term contracts and the new-deal-clique received it’s latest member today in the form of Dele Alli.
Indeed, Spurs announced this morning that the England international has agreed a new six-year deal, which will keep him in north London until summer 2022.
The Lilywhites have seemingly made a policy of ‘topping up’ contracts before Europe’s biggest clubs try to prize their most coveted talent away.
Which begs the question of who should follow Alli’s lead by committing to Spurs, who are currently third in the Premier League table after three wins and two draws from their first five games.
With that in mind, we’ve taken a look at FOUR Tottenham stars who should put pen to paper next.
JAN VERTONGHEN
Jan Vertonghen may still be living in the shadow of his first season at White Hart Lane but he’s still one of the best defenders in the Premier League and the eldest member of Spurs’ usual starting XI. The Belgium international’s contract expires in 2018, meaning Spurs could be forced to sell next summer unless they can agree a new deal.
HARRY KANE
Harry Kane’s contract doesn’t expire for another four years but Spurs would be wise to commit him to a new deal as soon as possible. The 23-year-old is one of the best strikers in Europe, let alone the Premier League, and it won’t be long before a Champions League powerhouse tries to prise him away from White Hart Lane. It seems unlikely Kane will spend his entire career at Spurs but the longer the deal, the more Daniel Levy can demand from potential suitors.
HUGO LLORIS
Hugo Lloris is one of the most important names on the Tottenham team-sheet but rejected the offer of a contract extension back in June. He’s another Spurs star Europe’s top clubs are eternally keen to whisk away, so the north Londoners must ensure he signs a new deal before the end of the season – when the France no.1’s current terms will reach that all-important two-years-remaining mark.
KYLE WALKER
Kyle Walker divides opinion but there’s no doubt he’s been a fantastic servant since signing from Sheffield United in 2009 and the right-back still has plenty more to offer at the relatively young age of 26. Like Lloris, the defender’s deal will reach it’s final two years come the summer and although he doesn’t generate as much transfer interest as the Frenchman, Spurs would be disappointed to end up losing him on the cheap.
