da brwin: In his weekly BBC Sport column Mark Lawrenson has predicted the latest outcomes of this weekend’s Premier League games.
da aposte e ganhe: The former Liverpool stalwart has perused over the latest round of fixtures and reckons we could be in for a cagey affair this weekend in what’s billed as the biggest clash of the season so far between Manchester United and Manchester City.
City go into the game without Sergio Aguero and for many, that is the key to where the result will head at Old Trafford. For all the club’s wealth they simply haven’t found a player good enough to replace the Argentine as yet and that looks to be the difference in this early-season title clash.
Pep Guardiola will of course have other ideas about that but Lawrenson can’t see anything but a United win and a narrow one at that.
The BBC pundit writes: “Sergio Aguero’s suspension is a big loss to Manchester City, whose only specialist back-up striker is Kelechi Iheanacho. He is very promising, but still very young.
“It is strange that one of the world’s wealthiest clubs allowed Wilfried Bony to join Stoke on loan on deadline day without replacing him, which reduced their options further.
“At the start of the season I wondered what would happen if Aguero does not play, and we are about to find out.
“Looking at the game, the biggest difference between the two teams is that Manchester United can change things around with their strikers if they have to.
“Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial both have pace to burn through the middle if it is not working for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Because of that, I am going to go for United win. I don’t think City will be able to hold out for 90 minutes.”
Lawrenson is backing a 1-0 win for the Red Devils but what do you think? Let us know in the comments below…
